衰开有条路
Here are some negative stuff that me and Aron went into...
Lost of VTEC
Noticed that VTEC not engaging 1 weeks ago, check light and oil pressure warning light didn't light up. Trying to locate the culprit via...
Cleaning VTEC solenoid top part...
Unbolt 3 nut, size of 10mm...
Clean mesh...
Swap ECU....
Check engine oil level, reset ECU, still found nothing.
Weird symptom:
VTEC will kick in while the car is just started and it is in optimal temperature.
1st gear PRANGGG
2nd gear PRAAANGG
3rd gear no VTEC and rev cut at 6.5k rpm
drop back to 2nd or 1st gear, still no VTEC.
Stop aside, restart engine. And it repeats, 1st and 2nd gear VTEC, gone in 3rd gear.
Start Up Problem
The next day, something not right, and I cant fire up my engine.
It crank, but just wont start up. After some examine, distributor is the culprit.
Removed.
Installed a dizzy from halfcut and start up problem solved.
The Knocking
After 1 day of driving, there is some weird sound coming out from engine.
it is the "knocking" sound.
After ignition timing is tuned, still cant get rid of it.
Sent to mechanic, suspected to be:
Broken Conrod Bearing
Hypothesis:
Lack of oil pressure these day caused no VTEC.
Faulty sensor / switch that didn't warn us about low oil pressure.
Damaged conrod bearing due to low oil presure, plus keep on whacking above 5000 rpm
Update (23 Jun 2014):
Sent for ignition timing adjustment this morning, tune by timing light.
Update (23 Jun 2014):
Sent for ignition timing adjustment this morning, tune by timing light.
Reset ECU. Relearn. Drive around.
The knocking sound still around. Drive for 1km, and something more serious happened.
To the mechanic shop directly.
